I was born and raised in a town called Stocksbridge in Sheffield, the home of Fox's steelworks thought to be the birth place of stainless steel.

I have always been interested in knives, as I think most boys are.  I come from a family that has a strong interest in fishing and shooting so we would go every year without fail to various game fairs.  At the main game fair, I would have saved enough money to buy myself a couple of knives.  By the time I was in my teens, I had built quite a collection and when I became a skilled carpenter and joiner, I decided to try making knives for myself.

Although I started making knives as a hobby, I was soon spending every spare minute in the workshop.  When I had made a knife I was really proud of,  I took it along to the local shoot where I go beating and was surprised at just how much interest my knife had generated.  It wasn't long before I was asked to make a couple of knives for people on the shoot and before I knew it I had a list of knives that wanted making.

I am still a very keen fly fisherman and enjoy shooting both rifle and shotgun. Deer and deer stalking have always interested me, I have completed my Deer Stalking Certificate level one and I am now working on my level 2. I am now just trying to find some stalking to gain a bit of experience.

Most of the knives I make are requested by word of mouth.  Many people have asked to see examples of the work I have done in the past to give them ideas.  I have put this website together (not very well) basically for people to see some examples of the knives I have made.  I hope it is helpful and do contact me if you would like to discuss your individual requirements.
